A settlement has been reached.  One step forward, and many more steps to go.

“We have seen the results delivered by a MSU board consisting of legacy politicians, retired coaches, former athletes and connected political insiders.  A disaster.”

OUR PRIORITIES

As committed, engaged citizens who care about the future of our state and our state’s institutions, we cannot lose sight of these three priorities as related as related to Michigan State University and its path forward:

  • How to Fund the Settlement.  Any reasonable approach to funding the settlement must rely on a blend of insurance payouts, unrestricted net assets, unrestricted endowment funds and returns on endowment investment.  Students, MSU faculty and staff and Michigan taxpayers do not deserve to bear the burden of this expense.
  • Accountability.  At the same time, we must all bear the burden of holding MSU’s leadership accountable.  We must initiate the cultural changes necessary to ensure this never happens again. And this starts with electing responsible, committed and engaged leadership who will serve on the MSU Board of Trustees.
  • Legislation.  Passing survivor initiated anti-sexual assault and violence legislation must continue to be a priority.  Michigan needs to be a leader in advancing legislative and cultural reforms that protect all citizens, hold perpetrators accountable and create a culture that prevents sexual assault before it happens.

ACTIVE, EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP IS URGENTLY NEEDED AT MSU

“Active and experienced leadership is needed to get MSU out of this crisis.  Being the only candidate with real world experience in academic governance, college administration and corporate compliance, I bring much needed active, experienced and responsible leadership to the MSU Board. “

Now, more than ever, it is time to focus on who leads Michigan State University.  We have seen the results delivered by a MSU board consisting of legacy politicians, retired coaches, former athletes and connected political insiders who got MSU into this crisis.  A disaster.  Settlement amounts aside, the true costs of their inaction cannot be quantified.

Active and experienced leadership is needed to get MSU out of this crisis.  Being the only candidate with real world experience in academic governance, college administration and corporate compliance, I bring much needed active, experienced and responsible leadership to the MSU Board.

I NEED YOUR HELP.  It is time to return MSU to the people.  Learn about my priorities.   Join me. Together, we can restore integrity and pursue excellence at Michigan State University.
